This design was requested by a lab that researches the interaction between neurons and another undisclosed type of cell. The undisclosed cell releases chemicals that affect the neurons’ activity which can be measured with a specialized 24 well multiwell microelectrode array plate. The problem was that the transwells did not fit properly into said plate and 3D printing solved this with a highly accurate holder that perfectly holds the transwells right above the neurons in the array plate without having them come into direct contact with each other.
